  • After School Clubs:  Do you have a niche skill you are willing to share with students (chess, drama, STEM, etc.)?  Lead a small group after school club or provide assistance to an already established club.  Meetings begin at 3:45.

  • Classroom Support:  Partner with a teacher needing an extra set of hands.  Support may be needed on a regular basis or for short term projects.

Financial Literacy for Parents:  Help educate our DECA parents about financial literacy.  This could be a one time presentation or a series of presentations throughout the school year.

Deca High School

  • Adopt-a-Freshman:  Partner with a freshman student to provide mentorship and encouragement throughout the first year of high school.

  • Gateway Practice:  All DECA High students must pass through a series of gateways to graduate from high school.  Volunteers are needed to come in and help students prepare and practice for gateway presentations.

  • Montgomery County College Promise Mentor: Be a mentor in this program that DECA directly benefits from. College Promise mentors meet with one high school student each week. For more information: http://mcocp.org/index.html

  • Host a Job Shadow/Internship/Professional Lecture:  Contact Brittany Lewis, Director of Community Involvement at blewis@daytonearlycollege.org to learn more about these opportunities.

  • Have a hobby you’d like to teach others? Host a small group of students after school to share your passion and relay a new skill to interested students.  We are especially interested in providing robotics, mock trial/law, STEM, art, literacy, and leadership experiences for our high school students.

Two women, one with blonde hair and glasses and the other with dark skin and a red jacket, are sitting at a desk and engaging in conversation.
The image shows a man in a black shirt interacting with a young girl in a red shirt, both seated at a table in what appears to be a classroom setting with various educational materials and posters displayed on the walls.
