Scholarships

When applying for scholarships, one can get overwhelmed with all of the search engines and procedures.  As a reminder, if you have to pay to apply- it is a SCAM! 

What's on this page:  "Going Merry" and "Fastweb", both of these are personalized search engines to help match you with scholarships.  You do have to set up an account, but it is well worth the time.  FAQ's about all things scholarships and financial aid and updated live scholarships with deadlines for you to choose from and apply.  

Other places to look:  Employer or parent's employers.  Organizations/professional associations related to the student's field of interest- for example if you major in Education, check professional educator organizations.  Foundations - Dayton Foundation will be a big one!  Religious or community organizations, local businesses,  civic groups,  and more- just look!

The first step - When you are in pursuit for scholarships and financial aid in your senior year of high school, you need to fill out your FASFA.  Both parent and student have a large role to play in filling this out.

Live Scholarships

Fluid Power Scholarship Application Now Available
The NFPA Education and Technology Foundation is now accepting applications for $2,000 scholarships available to students pursuing fluid power education. This scholarship is partially funded by generous donations to the Tom Wanke Legacy Fund. Multiple scholarships are available for the 2023-24 academic year. The deadline to apply is April 3, 2023, at 11:59 PM CST.

A minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, 500-word essay, and one letter of recommendation are required from each applicant. The Foundation’s goal is to help graduating high school seniors, and individuals enrolled at technical colleges, community colleges, and universities pursue their interests in fluid power.

Robotics Challenge Scholarship Application Now Available
The NFPA Education and Technology Foundation is now accepting applications on for the $30,000 scholarship ($7,500 per year, for up to four years) award for a graduating high school senior participates as part of a FIRST® Robotics, National Robotics League, or VEX Robotics Competition Team and uses pneumatics in their robot. One merit-based award is available for the 2023-24 academic year. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2023, at 11:59 PM CST.

A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, 1,000-word essay, and one letter of recommendation are required from each applicant. The goal of the NFPA Robotics Challenge Scholarship is to bring an awareness of pneumatic options in robotics to high school students and to stimulate increased use of fluid power products in these competitions.

Anthony Muñoz Foundation Scholarship

Developed through Anthony and his family’s passion to help deserving students reach their dream of attending a local college or university, the Foundation’s Scholarship Fund awards multiple $20,000 scholarships to select Tri-State high school seniors.

Applications for 2023 open Jan. 1, 2023 and close April 28, 2023

 

Dr. Emma J. Jackson Scholarship

Dr. Emma J. Jackson was a servant leader who not only understood the importance of education, but valued education.

The Dr. Emma J. Jackson Scholarship fund are $500-$1000 scholarships for minority students from the Dayton area who are seeking post high school education at a 2 or 4 year institution.

The Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship 

The Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to help eligible students attend higher education at an accredited college or university. The Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program, founded in 1981, awards scholarships annually to students in participating Montgomery County high schools who have received their high school diploma during the current academic year.
