Our History

2003: Founded as Ohio’s first early college high school

2007: Graduated first high school class of seniors

2008: Named one of five most innovative high schools by WestEd

2008: Opened junior high school

2010: Received an Excellent with Distinction rating on the Ohio Report Card

2011: Designated an Ohio Department of Education State Superintendent’s School of Promise

2012: Opened DECA PREP for elementary aged students

2012: Reported from National Student Clearinghouse that 86% of DECA graduates are persisting in college

2014: Passed 91.4% of DECA PREP third grade students on the Reading Ohio Achievement Assessment, a top performing school in the area

2014: Named one of America’s Top High Schools for closing the gap by NEWSWEEK

2014: Received by DECA PREP an exemplary financial reporting award from the Ohio Auditor of State

2016: Earned “Best High School” Bronze Medal for the sixth time from U.S. News and World Report

2016: Received STEM Designation from the Ohio STEM Committee

2016: Opened DECA Middle, a new location, for students in grades 5-8

2016: Approved and began the construction of a Parent Center that will connect our two buildings at DECA PREP

2017: Received the Ohio School Innovation Award from Governor John Kasich.
